How to Store Characters, Worlds, and Outlines

Managing your characters, worlds, and outlines for use in other projects.

If you want to use Characters, Worlds, or Outline formats for multiple stories, these new AutoCrit features will make building your personal story database easier!

Saving Characters, Worlds, and Outlines from your Story Builder:

If you like a world, character, or outline format, you can save them to your personal story database to use in other projects. Click the Save icon here, then click Save New to store a character, world, or outline.

Saved characters, worlds, and outlines can be accessed by clicking My Characters, My World, or My Outlines.

This opens the relevant Preview Window, where you can view and select items to add to your current Story Idea.

The Character Preview Window (your Character Bank):

- Any characters shown here are available across all projects.

Clicking Select will add the character to your current Story Idea.

Note: Characters, worlds, and outlines cannot be edited from the Preview Windows. These windows are only used to preview and select items for your Story Idea. You can edit them in the story idea and click the Save button to update them in your Character/World/Outline database.

Saving Characters, Worlds, and Outlines from the Analyzer +

After analyzing a Story, you can extract its Characters and Worlds to use in future story ideas or alternate projects.

In your analysis, go to the element you want to store and click the Extract icon, here.

Edit your details if needed by clicking Review, and then save them once you're satisfied.

Click here to add a World to your locations database:

This will appear in your Character bank if it's a character or World bank if it's a world.

You can add these worlds and characters to other books you're planning in a new Story Idea.
