How do I Fix the 200-word Limit Error?

What to do if the Analyzer says "This chapter is less than 200 words".

If you run into this issue, follow the steps below to resolve it.

1. Combine It With the Previous Chapter

If your chapters are too short, you may want to consider joining them with previous chapters or following chapters. This won't matter in the Overall Analysis, but it will get you through the Chapter Analysis level.

To collapse a short chapter into the previous one, click the Chapter List at the top of your Writer's Desk editing area:

Then click the "-" button beside the chapter with fewer than 200 words:

This will combine the chapter with fewer words, with the previous chapter in the list:

2. Duplicate Your Chapter's Text

You can also meet the minimum word count limit by duplicating the text of your chapter like this:

Chapter 3 (8 words):
This is the text of my chapter three.

Chapter 3 (16 words):
This is the text of my chapter three.

This is the text of my chapter three.

This will "trick" the Analyzer into scanning chapters with fewer words, but remember, if it does not have enough information to analyze, the Analyzer could produce unintended results.
