How to Link a Story Idea

This short post will show you how to link an idea to a new file or an existing one.

How to link to a new file

From the Story Ideas tab, you can link an idea by clicking the 3 vertical dots next to a story idea you wish to link to a file, then click the "Write this Idea in a New File" option to link it to a blank document.

How to link to an existing file

If you wish to link your idea to a file that you've already started. Navigate to the file by going to your Writer's Desk projects area, here:

Open the file you wish to add it to from your Recent files list or your from your projects lower down on the page:

OR (for example)

​Once the file is open go to the Planning tab, and then click to open the Fiction Story Builder:

On the right-hand side of your screen you will have the option to link an idea that has not been linked:

If there is a linked idea already, you can click the 3 vertical dots and then the option to link a previously saved idea to switch it to a different one.
